Wilfred Lau now shows more of his style in his latest album Past & Present, though his voice still sounds similar to Eason Chan in some aspects. The recent up-tempo hit "Shut-up Baby" shows the more kinetic side of his music, with witty lyrics by Wyman Wong ordering one's nagging girlfriend to keep silent. Other smashes include "Second Class Angels" and "Comrades". The MVs for all three songs come in the Bonus VCD together with the album. Past & Present contains 8 Cantonese songs and 2 tracks in Mandarin which may not be ear-catching but are no doubt a pleasure to listen.  

Wilfred Lau joined the music industry in 1997 after winning 3 awards in a row in a singing contest. Circumstances did not allow for his further development in the field, but he never gave up. Finally he released his first album Startup in 2004 and his second one Singing in the Ring in early 2005. What connects his past and his present may be his persistence in creating quality music, and Past & Present will continue to illustrate Wilfred's music passion!
