ABOUT MOONLIGHT IN TOKYO:
Synopsis: Intellectually impaired he might be, JUN (starring Leon Lai) is only dumb but not silly. Abandoned by his family on a trip to Tokyo with only a few notes in his pocket, he thinks he has found his guardian angel when he bumps into a former classmate, HOI (starring Chapman To). But Hoi is no angel at all. He is just a grafter on the run from Yakuza loan sharks.
When YAN (starring Yang Gwei-Mei), the owner of an escort service, is convinced the ingenuous Jun will make a perfect gigolo. Hoi decides to transform his pal into Tokyo’s most sought-after Lothario in order to eke out a living and to pay his debts. Together the odd couple thus embarks on a hilarious adventure, or misadventure so to speak, worming their way into the hearts of desperate housewives and office ladies in Japan.
Though Hoi constantly takes advantage of Jun in every possible way. Jun’s generosity and unquestionable trust gradually changes his cynical view of life. A magical bond soon develops between them, sealing their destiny on the most mysterious way.

Movie Tidbits:
LEON REQUESTS LIVE DUCK FOR POSTER SHOOT AMID BIRD FLU FEARS
Media Asia’s new anticipated film “Moonlight In Tokyo,” starring Leon Lai and Chapman To, will open in theatres in this December. Directed by Alan Mak and Felix Chong, and produced by Andrew Lau, “Moonlight In Tokyo” marks the reunion of the box-office guaranteed production team from “Infernal Affairs” and “Initial D.”
In the film, Leon portrays an intellectually impaired man who turns into the hottest gigolo in Tokyo under Chapman To’s misguidance. In Cantonese, the slang for male escort is “duck”. To bring fresh idea to the marketing campaign, Leon insisted to find a live duck for the poster shoot. But given concerns about bird flu, Media Asia’s staff said it would not be safe although the concert was brilliant.
When being asked whether he worries the escort role in “Moonlight In Tokyo” might ruin his gentleman image, Leon said: “One thing for being an actor is to be able to completely detach oneself and get into the character.” He added that the escort role was a huge challenge for him, but he believed his performance in the film would surely surprise the audiences.
