Karazen Review: Ever tried those Chinese restaurants where the food looks authentic and are crazy expensive and doesn't even taste that good? Well, Congee Village is nothing like any of those. Congee Village is the real deal, its a place where can you enjoy great Chinese food for a great price. This place can be overcrowded at times but the food is definitely worth the wait. But while waiting, why not have a drink or two at the nice bar lounge in the authentic Chinese restaurant? The service in Congee Village is friendly and helpful. Despite how busy it gets at times, the uniformed staff are still very quick and friendly. Everything is very fresh and well prepared and like i said, the prices are totally reasonable for the quality and the portions of the food.
As if the food and the service isn't enough, there is also karaoke in the basement. The five party rooms in the basement feature the restaurant's bamboo overload décor and the fresh and tasty Cantonese cuisine. Each of the rooms contain a karaoke machine filled with thousands of songs in English, Chinese, Japanese, and you can also bring your own Cds. You can get a room for eight hours ($400.00 minimum for ten to twelve people).
Note: Reservations accepted for parties of six guests or more.

A great spot near the outskirts of Chinatown in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The food is incredible here and the prices are even better. Many things to recommend, you have to at least taste the congee. They have many varieties. Also the best dish is the House Special Chicken. You have to go and taste for yourself.
Pros: Tasty and Cheap
Cons: location and so-so wait staff
