Karazen Profile: Biny's is on the outskirts of Manhattan's Chinatown, within walking distance. It sports a big main karaoke lounge that can seat maybe 75 people and is well equipped with a big screen projector, adequate sound system, full bar, sushi bar, and a full kitchen. In addition to the main lounge, there are a few small and big private rooms. I love these rooms as they have their own separate karaoke system with a little more privacy. The rates vary depending on the
you would choose songs from a nifty lcd monitor and be queued on their computer system. For the English database. its more of a hands on approach. Choosing songs from a book and writing down the number and giving it to the DJ. The the DJ will manually merge it in with the other songs on queue. For the private rooms, you choose which system you want and have to stick to that one. Overall, Biny's is one of the bigger Chinese Karaoke Lounges in the city |

Stands for Best in
New York, this
karaoke lounge lives
up to its name. I
first started to go
there 2 years ago.
When I went there
for the very first
time, my friends and
I didn’t think we’d
end up having so
much fun. Ever since
then, I am there
every week! (Okay
okay, maybe every 2
weeks if not every
week). I bring my
Karazen lyrics with
me to sing at the
lounge. I really
like the sound
quality. With the
cordless mic- I just
think it’s great for
people who love to
sing and dance, too.
Biny serves typical
Japanese food and
can accompany your
karaoke fun. Each
table has a computer
screen and key pad
to select your
songs- which I think
is entirely awesome!
Sometimes when the
lounge is filled
with people (usually
on weekends), my
friends and I enter
into the private
rooms. It is
decorated with a
modern and young
touch. The down part
about that is you
have to select
either Chinese or
English as your
preference. I’m
usually interested
in both languages
but 9 out of 10
times, the Chinese
prevails in our
group so I have no
choice. Plus I don’t
mind since I have my
Karazen lyrics
anyway! And that is
the main reason why
I prefer to hang in
the lounge. Their
system features both
languages that I can
choose from. The
lounge itself is
nicely designed.
There’s a sushi bar
on the side. Many
widescreens for easy
viewing of the
karaoke lyrics/video
and more
importantly, a FULL
BAR. I highly
recommend Biny’s. it
is getting so
popular by the
minute as it is
getting more packed
and more booked for
each weekend I go.
Now I have to make
reservations a week
in advance!
Pros: posh atmosphere
Cons: can be a bit crowded.

When I first went to Biny's, I thought it was located at a great spot on Canal Street (just down the road from the entrance to the Holland Tunnel). I live in New Jersey and it is so easy to just drive in to find parking then hang out at Biny's. Then it is easy to just drive back without being stuck in much city street traffic. It was my second time going to a karaoke place. My first time was in a room with my friends so the set-up at Biny's was different for me. I liked the idea that we didn't have to pay the extra money for a room (you need to buy a couple of drinks to help with the cover charge). I think that Biny's has a great atmosphere and is roomy. It is like a restaurant style where you can sit at a table and order your drinks and food. We went after work and it wasn't very crowded in the main room. This was my preference, but if you like a private room, Biny's also have different sizes for privacy. The rooms are very well sound-proof so they don't disturb anyone in the main room.
There are many flat screens around the main room and one huge screen at the front for everyone to view. They have many selections, lots of Rock music and they have Chinese music as well. The selection is great. I have been back to Biny's many times since my first visit and have had a great time especially with my husband. Sometimes we get so into the singing that we get up and dance in the aisle!
If you love Japanese food this is the place to eat. I think the food is great. They also have a sushi bar. Drinks are great and at a decent price; they have frozen drinks which are "da bomb"! I am Jamaican and my husband is Puerto Rican and we really enjoy Biny's every time we go. We don't mind coming in from NJ just to go to Biny's for some good karaoke…we celebrated our birthdays there last July. Best ever- I would definitely recommend Biny's.
Pros: Updated Songs .
Cons: Always full.

I have been coming to Biny’s for the last few years. One memorable night at Biny’s was one January night when about 30 friends and acquaintances hung out. We had different foods and different drinks. We laughed as we drank Purple MFs for the 1st time. We took Barcadi 151 shots that were lit on fire. I remember seeing people having this drink called Car bombs and wondered how one can keep that from spilling. What is crazy about this is that we continued to sing karaoke and drank and sang more and drank some more. It was a crazy but a great night. One that I definitely have not forgotten.
This place has always been customer-friendly and attracts an array of people. It is an attractive spot not only for Asians looking for songs in native languages but for non-native speaking people who are looking for current songs ranging from R & B to alternative. The food is great- which you are able to see being made right in front of you. The bartenders are able to make so many cool drinks and stay attentive to the customers even when it is packed. Biny’s is the hot spot where you can sing, drink, have great food and meet so many different people. This is why they have so many returning customers like me.

Biny's is the best karaoke joint on Canal Street. Okay, fine, it's the only karaoke joint I've been to on Canal Street. It's a good place for groups because they have a wide open lounge area with a giant screen. They also have private rooms in case you're with ugly people that you don't want to be seen with. The song selection is a cornucopia of constantly updated American and Chinese songs. This isn't a bring-your-own-drinks and food place as they have a full bar and menu (with sushi!). The staff is very attentive and accommodating. I had a birthday party over there and I highly recommend this place for groups of people who you might not like very much. You set them up with some songs, some food and drinks, and then slip out the back entrance as the karaoke/food/alcohol party ensues. Again, given my above suggestions, YOU will have a great time.

If you enjoy the Karaoke atmosphere then you will appreciate Biny’s. American Idol wannabe singers will fall in love with the wide array of available song selections. Singer’s choice of music includes most recent hits, pop, rock & roll, classics and so much more. Two hours with friends & family is simply not enough time to enjoy the fun. I always look forward to going out with friends for Karaoke, especially when we go to Biny's. I remember when everyone sing along with me or bop their heads to "In the End" by Linkin Park or "Super Freak" by Rick James. There are just so many songs to sing and I am the type of person who loves to sit down and sing although some songs calls for dancing. Biny's main area is quite spacious and open that it presents me with the flexibility to either using the song while sitting down or stand up and sing to an entire audience. I love to choose songs I know will command the attention of the audience. One time, I got so excited that I announced my marriage to everyone while singing a song from Jodeci. The average singer will be pleased and will enjoy the music. Guaranteed fun and excitement is a surety for all in attendance.

I remember when I first visited Biny's and it was on my friend's birthday. We reserved a room for over 20 people! The room was huge and the colorful sofa was really comfortable. The best of all is that the songs at Biny's are all very current. Not to mention the sound quality from their "kareoke machine"- wow!!! I can definitely hold the mic all night long....if my friends didn't tell me to "give IT a rest already". Also, Biny's got a full lounge and a sushi bar, Yummy!!! The food is really delicious and definitely not so pricey. As for the "Bar"- all I can is that anything you ask for, they got it!! I usually order my favorite shots- 151, Burboun Whiskey, etc etc. You know, the top tier drinks. I personally think that Biny's is the best place for hanging out, relaxing with your friends or to go wild with your friends ( your choice). I promise you, you won't be disappointed.
