Cantopop singer Janice (Wei
Lan) Vidal held her "My First Concert" at the Hong Kong
Coliseum last weekend. The 4-night concert started March
29th and ended on April 1st, 2007.
Janice shined-- as the talented
singer sang a total of 25 songs with an array of
Mandarin, Cantonese, and English songs. Janice, in her
sophomore year in the Hong Kong music industry practiced
long and hard for her first concert as she once believed
she wasn’t concert-ready as a performer. Her hard work
surely paid off as her live singing was much improved.
Since it
was her first concert, you can tell she was a bit
nervous. Her Chinese kept her from speaking more during
her concert. It was all about Janice’s live performance.
She is such a natural talent with an incredible voice
and a very down-to-earth attitude. She showed a vast
improvement from her past mini-concert and Leon concert.
The high
points in the concert were when Janice sang “My Fate My
Love,” and “千言萬語”.
Janice
changed many outfits throughout the night including a
very sexy, sparkled, back-baring dress. Another favorite
was her sporty Janice-labeled jacket and sport pants.
The special guest for the concert was her sister Jill Vidal. They both sang “Over the Rainbow” together showing everyone their sisterly love. Jill then re-appeared in very sexy, revealing outfit ala Victoria’s Secret bra and panties including a set of red wings.
A special
childhood video showed the young Janice with her sister
Jill. Jill teased the audience asking them to guess
which one was Janice and herself. Jill, the younger sis
is also an upcoming star in the Hong Kong music
industry. But Janice surely has the much bigger
spotlight.
Leon Lai and Mark Lui were shown on video giving Janice
words of encouragement and sharing stories of Janice to
everyone in the audience. Janice repaid her mentor by
singing many of Leon’s top songs. Her renditions of
Leon’s songs were definitely refreshing and brought many
of her fans to their feet.
