TAIWAN
March 12, 2006 --
In a full impact,
sweat-soaked, high-flying performance this weekend,
Alexander Leehom Wang comes out as a HERO OF THE EARTH
at his Taipei concert in Taipei Arena. Tickets were hard
to come by as tickets for both concerts were sold out.
The lucky few saw Leehom take the stage and put on an unforgettable show. His
East Meets West fusion in his music transformed
magically onto the stage.
The night started with a
bang. Wearing a long Asian garb and attached to a steel
wire that lifted him off the stage, he dazzled the
audience with some Wushu kung fu. All performed behind a
beautifully choreographed pyro stage effects with
thunderous fireworks.

Originally from the U.S.,
Alexander is a composite of his Eastern roots along with
his Western nationality. Intertwining flavors of the
East and West, this concert reflected the person that he
was throughout the entire performance. Leehom calls it
"Chinked-out." He will chinked-out
performance by combining, pop music, hip hop, Peking
opera, Kun Qu Opera, martial arts and other different
elements.
Presenting his musical
background, he played the drums, violin, erhu, and
piano. He did his martial arts stunts and had some very
sexy dance numbers.
In a piano performance,
Alexander
sang James Blunt's “You’re Beautiful” that had fans and audiences
emotionally touched. Special guests include WestLife and
Alexander collaborated with them to sing, “You Bring Me
Up”. This is a first as it was the first time Western
entertainers being guest performers at an Asian singer's
concert. He didn't disappoint as his renditions were
superb.
Another highlight of the
concert was the hot sizzling dances between Alexander
and the female dancers. Some sensual movements and
touching really ignited the crowd. At one point, there were 100 people on stage making
it the most number of people in a concert performance
ever in the Taipei Arena. Overall, the variety of
stunts, dances, and singing had audiences coming out
with earsplitting screams throughout the night.
Near the end of the concert, Leehom
talked about his love life. He said, “My love
life doesn't fly around, it's long distance, it's easy
for me to lose hope, but I promise you guys, I won't
give up, you guys can't give up easily, either.”
He
ended the spectacular night with “Impossible to Miss
You” and “The One and Only.”
His hard work, dedication,
and many sleepless nights paid off. This all sold out concert
weekend proved Alexander Wang Leehom to be a
first-class, first-rate performer and musician.
Fascinated the people who attended; it was a weekend to
remember. Next stop is Hong Kong and Shanghai.
