The China Star Support and
Promotion Group Song and Music Video were unveiled. The participating CSGO members sang the
song "Olympic Beijing," with a backdrop screen
broadcasting the Music Video (MV) cast by over 100
celebrities from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong,
Taiwan, Macao as well as overseas.
Jackie
Chan, Andy Lau, Alan Tam and other Hong Kong
entertainers have recorded the song to promote the 2008
Beijing Olympics.
The song,
titled “Olympic Beijing”, is separate from the official
theme song for the 2008 Games.
The
Mandarin-language song, written by Eddie Ng, would be
aired in China. It was unclear if the song would be
released on CD.
Other big
names in the entertainment industry are involved with
the Beijing Olympics, a major source of pride for the
Chinese. Paula Tsui, Hacken Lee, Shirley Kwan, Andy Hui,
William So, Jordan Chan, and many more.
Famed Chinese director Zhang Yimou will oversee the
design of the opening and closing ceremonies. American
director Steven Spielberg has also signed on as a
consultant for the two ceremonies.
