Jackie Chan Sober and Sorry (Video Footage)
Action star Jackie Chan has asked for public forgiveness
after drunkenly swearing and disrupting a music concert.
Chan appeared at Taiwanese pop singer Jonathan Lee's
concert in Hong Kong on Monday and unexpectedly jumped
on stage before demanding a duet with him. Realizing his
erratic behavior, Chan reportedly admitted that he was
drunk before bowing and apologizing to the audience on
stage.
But he continued to try to conduct
Lee's band, making them start and stop six times before
he was satisfied with the music they were playing.
Chan, who starred in the film
Drunken Master, also swore and bellowed "shut up", much
to the surprise of the unhappy audience which booed and
hurled insults at the star. In return, he shouted back
with another obscenity.
A rather embarrassed Rush Hour star
later admitted to leading Hong Kong radio show host
Candy Chea that he was drunk when he jumped on stage,
explaining that he "forgot there were so many people
watching".
"But Chan also said this was his
first time, and it had never happened before," Chea
said.
Chea, who reported their
conservation on her show yesterday, said the Rush Hour
star told her that he had drunk too much that night.
