The Hong
Kong 2005 Chik Chak Awards Results are out. 903 Radio held
this year's music awards ceremony on New Years Day at
the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Plenty of awards
were given out. Best Male, Female, Group Singer went
to Eason Chan, Joey Yung, and Twins respectively. The
biggest winner was Eason Chan with 6 awards, including
sweeping both Album of the Year awards, Most Popular
Male of the Year, and Top Song of the Year.
Many tears
were shed during this extravagant night. Juno Mak, Fiona
Sit, Louis Cheng, and Denise Ho all shed a little during
their acceptance speeches. Also many singers that
received awards gave heart felt speeches. Twins, after
winning the Best Group award, stated that they have
heard a lot of critics and fans out there saying
negative things about them. They have been listening and
will work that much harder in 2006 to improve.
Surprisingly, At17 later on that night, took home the
Most Popular Group Award that was voted in by fans via
SMS. This will surely create tons of Internet chatter on
how Twins could have lost to At17. But in the end,
competition will bring out the best for everyone.
