Earlier TVB had gained good ratings for its broadcast of American TV show, "Desperate Housewives."




TVB has decided to film its own version of "Desperate Housewives," starring Sheren Tang Tsui Man, Leila Tong Ning, Kiki Sheung Tin Ngor, and Cecilia Yip Tung.

The new series will be called "Housewife Reinforcement" 《師奶救兵》. As Sheren, Cecilia, and Kiki are all talented actresses, aside from competition in acting, there might be friction among the 3 of them as well once filming starts.

Sheren said, "We all admire each other's acting talents. It is a rare chance that everyone gets to work together, so there will not be any hostilities. Maybe in the series, we will challenge each other's acting skills, but outside of the series, there is no need for competition."

Producer Lam Chi Wah said that the new series will start filming in June. The plot will focus on 4 housewives in Hong Kong. "Sheren will be wearing very little makeup in the show. Cecilia Yip will play a wealthy housewife who has fallen on hard financial times. Also John Chiang Dai Wai will turn from being an arrogant man to a humble man. This series will be quite amusing."

Lam said that they have not settled on the male lead actor yet. But he joked about the 4 female leads, "In the original American version, the housewives are all very beautiful. But since we are making a Hong Kong version, we will play down on the housewives' looks, making it more identifiable with real Hong Kong housewives."
